Crunch time

I haven’t been very active on the blog lately. A lot of things have happened. We, as a group, have come a long way since the project’s beginning and we have been working hard. Everyone has.

Just looking around studio 2 at Hyper Island seeing everyone working on their amazing stuff gives me the chills.

I am so proud of the group I am in and I cannot wait for tomorrow to arrive.

Come visit us at the expo! http://www.workhardplayhard.se

Waiting for disaster

Dear blog, it’s me again, your friend Phil.

It’s the last few days until the big expo. And I’m feeling strangely calm about it all. I don’t feel stressed, as is custome. And I don’t hate anybody in my group (sadly, this is usually the case this close to the finish line..). So what can I gather from this? well..if you are me, your waiting for disaster.

Well..I really don’t HOPE that will happen, but it’s a feeling I always struggle with, and thats probably why I finished all the print stuff and sent it away last friday..just to be shure that I will handle the stress when it comes.

So where is it?! ..I don’t know. Fuck you disaster. …

On another note, me and Marcus went around a few agencies today and drew up hopscotches. It was a lot of fun and the people that asked about it, was all positive about it. ..I think this will make some kind of buzz for our expo.

And with that, I’m checking out.

Phil

Case Video is finished, finally…

Markus got his shit together and finished the case video. After 3 trials he got this stuff down!
Bekki is rumbling on the sponsor front, bringing in one after the other, eventhough she hates it…
Kei thinks the website is never good enough, but thats why we like him.
Raven is rocking the expo, with some help of Jocelyn and the others.
Peter is turning more and more into a mad professor, we fear him a bit now.
Philippe left early.
And then there is me, I don’t wanna sound like I think I’m the best, but I’m the best.

It’s the working Time!!

Each and every members of [The Loclas] is focusing on team tasks

The steam guy (he maks team hot :) ) Julien is making official project website which offers comprehensive information of [INSENSE] project

You can check our project website now and participate the conversation
how do you think about the house/office environment of the future.
We want opinions of digital field experts about this project! :-)

Markus and Philip are discussing about lay-out of exhibition place  -
It’s not easy work to consider all kind of experience of visitors at same time  :(
However, I’m pretty sure that we could make awesome result!!  :-)

Passionate Lady Bekky, and Genius Tech guy Pete :)

I think Bekky has such a great passion for learning
she has been contributing various ways from making the case video to sponsorship (Awesome!!)

Pete is kind of… Super core brain :) of developing part which is connect with
all outside objects such as Interactive lamp and Screens -

I’d like to introduce his working really really briefly… (It’s just kind of teasing :) )

You can check our whole awesome work in Exhibition!!

See you on  27. Oct (map)

The days are getting closer

I feel that the days before D-day is getting closer for all the groups.

Production is in the house and the hole school is turned outside out and the Mac books have to share space with cordless screwdriver and Arduions and solder.

After a breakfast meeting with The locals group, me and Marcus got started to film the school environment to make a case movie. Phillip got the roll to remake the graphic interface and with Julien they are going to refresh the INSEN.SE so sponsors will get there eyes pop:ed out! Sweet! I´m exited again!

Also thanks for the new sponsors we got to day, Flügger färg and Brämhults. This means we have paint for the podium we are going to built and delicious juice for our future guests!

Love/
Bekky

“Action! Take of your shirt. Cut!”

Good evening dear Hyper diary!

Today has been a fully booked day consisting of film-making, planning of case-movie and huge amounts of coffee.
Me, Rebekka and Phil spend most of our day in one of Hypers many sweatboxes. Accompanied by four 500W hotlights and a camera we managed to put a face to one of the ideas for the expo. The result was four movie clips that illustrates how a human reacts when factors as co2, temperature, light and sound changes in a room.

Starring the movies was Rebekka, who except for being a super cool person, also is a super talented actress! Me and Phil was amazed by the talents that this nicaraguan whirlwind had kept hidden til now.

Today I’ve learnt that it’s great fun and hard work to coordinate and plan a movie. I’ve also learnt that it’s hard not to sound as an male chauvinist movie director when telling the girl in front of the camera what to do. But I think me and Phil managed it pretty well thanks to Rebekkas patience and skills.

That’s all for now. See you soon!

this was almost too exciting

We went shopping today. Me and Pete. I swear I have never been more excited about someone being excited as I was today. Not alone was he excited that Pete dude, he totally outbatteled the service guy in knowledge. I was proud!

Knowing that we now have almost everything we need to build this, I feel really good. Planning the expo and spending next to no time with my beloved group is stressing me out a bit but I know they are holding it down.

Pete already started putting the parts together. Im sitting across from him wondering if the story about having a bachelor degree in art history is just a cover up and that he really spent his entire youth building a spaceship.

Here is Pete in the store…

Visualize the proof of concept!

Hello tech fellows!

This Wednesday I suddenly found myself in position of making calls to potential sponsors for the material of the lamp and also trying to figure out where to built it. Based on yesterdays amazing work Phillipe did in Google SketchUP we had a product actually start construction. We where on track and Pete and Phillipe was discussing the practical difficulties and possibility in connecting the lamp to the sensors and the Arduino.
Im soo thrilled by the fact that I get the work with making graphic profile and at the same time learn from marketing from the two professionals in our group for this Kei and Ravin!

Hyper projects is a journey you can´t project and everything changed in the afternoon. A brilliant former Hyper student and innovative developer from Identity Works was one of the reasons for this. Niklas just made us aware of the that we have:

First our proof of concept is useful and clear; okey check!

Is our concept invitingly enough for the guest at the expo to go WOW? Hmm?
Do we want to stand out and sell a product or a awareness? How do we do this?

Let´s make it fun and play hard with “Insense”. What can actually happened with a person working under to low C02 level or too high temperature? Let´s visualise this on the Expo.

I think the video illustrate is all. A low CO2 level just makes life harder to concentrate in, Julien just made it clear to us that you have to be aware of this fact. Thanks again Niklas Bivald at @identityworks!

No we just have to check the new TO DO LIST and have fun with the lots exiting work we are heading this week and coming ones! This new visualisation for the expo just made me feel tickled again!

By the way Ravin is doing magic in the Expo team and we all feel blessed that we have her competence making the best Expo ever for Hyper DM13!

It’s just F U N

Hello there blog. It’s your dear Local, Phil again. ..so whats happening with me you ask? Well..

I really got to work with the design of our “lamp” today. Also, trying to figure out where the hell we can make this. It’s a lot of question marks right now, but it really feel that I’m on the right track in a strange way..

The uncertainty of all this is just like a pink, fluffy cloud in the Locals’s camp. We are all happy. Oh..and we have a saying here.. SHITS GET SHIT. And that aura is really settling, ’cause  with that level of honesty you don’t sugarcoat yourself. I love that.

Anyway, all is good and moving forward. Tomorrow me and Pete will go through the tech that is needed inside the lamp. And by doing so, I’ll get the dimensions I can work with. ..see? we know how to steer this shit.

And by that, I’m checking out.

LOVE, Phil, The Locals
